Who We Are
Wings for Justice is an organization built by a small group of protective mothers in Ottawa County, Michigan, who found themselves struggling in their family court cases. We found that the same caseworkers and judges were ignoring laws and the best interest of the children factors were not being considered. Attorneys were working against us by withholding evidence of abuse from being put on the court record and helping the opposing counsel with bogus claims of parental alienation. We were threatened, bullied, gagged, wrongfully jailed, fined and even had our children taken from us and given to their abusive parent.
We learned much from our own cases and began helping each other. Each of us brought more and more to the table as we found others suffering with the same unconstitutional tactics from many of the same players in our county. We began learning the law and reaching out to other experts for knowledge in fighting for our children. It was so comforting to have others walk through these difficult times together who understood firsthand the struggles we faced. We all agreed that what we went through would not be for naught and we would strive to help others the best we could. We officially launched as a 501(c)3 in April of 2016.
While we help protective parents from all faiths and walks of life, we firmly believe in the Biblical mandate to seek justice, encourage the oppressed, defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow (Isaiah 1:17b); and to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke (Isaiah 58:6); Defend the weak and the fatherless, uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed (Psalm 82:3). We’ve found so much compassion and wisdom in these and other verses to help us when we’re advocating for others.
We’ve gathered a wealth of knowledge and insight from advocating for other protective parents from around the country. This information from other cases and appeals gives them a fighting chance against the unconstitutional tactics of the corrupt judges, attorneys, “therapists” and caseworkers. Over the last 14 years, we’ve seen too many court officials more than willing to work with and actually recruit abusive parents who weaponize the legal system against their own children to exact revenge against the protective parent. These corrupt officials allow and actually encourage excessive litigation to extort money from the abusive parent and impoverish the protective parent. In all cases, the children are used as pawns and traumatized by the very system that is supposed to protect them. Our efforts have helped parents successfully understand the obstacles placed in their way and how to better navigate their own cases.

Gina Fischer
BOARD MEMBER
Gina Fischer is a founding member and Director of Wings For Justice and has been an advocate since 2014. She learned firsthand the perils of the corruption in Family Court when her ex-husband repeatedly took her back to court with bogus claims of parental alienation. When she realized her attorneys were working against her with opposing counsel and Friend of the Court caseworkers, she learned as much about family law as possible and fought her case pro se (without an attorney). This allowed her to get her testimony of domestic violence and relevant evidence on the record that was previous blocked by her attorneys. She was able to keep her children safe from the abuse and stop the vexatious litigation. Working together with the other founding members of Wings For Justice on their cases, they wanted to build a non-profit to help others experiencing the same kinds of legal abuse.
Gina studied Marketing and Business Communications at Western Michigan University. She went back to school after her divorce and earned her AAS in Graphic Design at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She used these skills in developing the new Wings For Justice branding and website design. She works with Ann Maguire on the day to day operations as well as supporting protective parents in highly contentious cases. Her focus is on rebuilding the social media channels and connecting experts together to strengthen a movement to expose and clean up the corruption in Family Court.
